Local rules

The sequence travels. The rules do not.

Some steps depend on where the property is: how a deposit is handled and by when, which alarm, gas and electrical checks need a written record, what you can ask an applicant for, and what the tenancy agreement has to say. Those steps carry a “check local rules” mark and ask you to confirm the requirement before you tick them.

A practical sequence, not legal advice. Check the rules where the property is before you rely on a step.
